Polymarket US (opens in a new tab) and Polymarket’s international platform are separate products with different legal entities and access rules. A New York reader should use documentation that matches the U.S. product. Check written contract rules, account eligibility and total costs. Trading involves risk, including loss of money.

Which legal entity operates the product?
The U.S. market integrity page identifies QCX LLC d/b/a Polymarket US. The international site separately explains that U.S. trading should use Polymarket US. Brand recognition alone is not enough to establish which rules apply.
Which instructions apply to the US product?
International tutorials may discuss wallets, assets, market categories, or fees that do not apply to the U.S. product. Before following a guide, check the domain, app name, legal entity, and document title.
Which product does the referral use?
Use the Polymarket US app and the U.S. terms; the international Polymarket product is a different platform. The international platform is separate and is not an alternative trading route for US readers.
What is the New York legal context?
New York announced its action against Polymarket US on September 24, 2026. Read our separate coverage for the state’s allegations and the distinction between a filed case and a final result. Account access and the latest court status require current checks.
What should you check before signing up?
Confirm the U.S. entity; read the current account terms; verify your location and age eligibility; inspect the precise offer; and understand funding and withdrawal rules. If a tutorial sends you to a different product, stop and find the matching documentation.
What fees apply in the US?
Polymarket US charges orders that fill straight away (taker orders) 0.0695 × contracts × price × (1 − price), highest near 50 cents: about $1.74 per 100 contracts at 50¢. Orders that rest on the book pay no fee. From 1:00 PM ET on October 19, 2026, Polymarket US ends its flat rebate on resting orders for most traders; taker fees do not change. Kalshi (opens in a new tab) charges 0.07 × contracts × price × (1 − price) on each executed trade, rounded up to the next cent (about $1.75 per 100 contracts at 50¢); some markets have their own rates. Use the order preview for the exact charge.

Frequently asked questions
Can New Yorkers use the international platform instead?
Do not use another product or a location workaround to bypass restrictions. The international platform’s U.S. restrictions and the U.S. product’s current rules must be respected.
Does a global market screenshot show what I can trade in the U.S.?
No. A displayed international market does not establish U.S. product availability.
What is a prediction market contract?
It is a contract tied to a defined event. Read its resolution criteria, deadline, settlement source and exception rules.
Does a $1 payout mean $1 profit?
No. Profit is payout minus purchase cost and applicable fees. A losing contract can lose the amount paid and fees.
